Edeline attended the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Family Forum in East Hartford, Connecticut, Sept. 4, to talk about her business, EGGG Stressballs, and how it has been supported by a grant from DDS.
Mom could not attend due to an open house at South Windsor High School where she teaches, so arrangements were made for a compassionate caregiver to accompany Edeline to the meeting.
I am SO VERY PROUD of her for going to important meetings like this, representing her company, and being confident without her mom present!
With a cognitive delay and a complex history of trauma, there are a myriad of reasons why she shouldn’t be able to do things like this, BUT she is proving to everyone that with the right backing she can overcome a very difficult past and have an incredible future helping others and being successful. Building a business and healing trauma with play dough and balloons; one proud and grateful mamma tonight!
Edeline’s EGGG Stressballs were featured on the DDS Facebook page after she spoke at the Family Forum. We were contacted by someone (a new friend — amazing how many friends we are making through this business) who saw this post before we even knew it was on Facebook.
God is opening so many doors of opportunity for my daughter Edeline…all because of some play dough and balloons!
